The 7th Annual _Legalise Cannabis Ireland_ protest took place this past weekend. Protesters took to Dublin to demand legalization of cannabis. One of the speakers, Teachta Dála Luke Flanagan, who is apart of the Oireachtas (Irish Parliament) talked about preparing a Private Members’ Bill.

“I have been campaigning for years for the legalization of cannabis and I am preparing a Private Members’ Bill that I will be putting before House of Representatives [the Dáil]. The fact is, people are smoking it and the Government is losing a massive amount of money by not regulating it and taxing it.”

A poll was taken by thejournal.ie asking _Should we legalize cannabis in Ireland?_ About 22,000 people took the poll. 74% of them think it’s time to legalize cannabis. You can’t say 3/4 of Ireland wants cannabis legalization. But I think the percentage isn’t that far away from it.

Miley Cyrus was interviewed for  the July 4th summer double issue of _Rolling Stone_. She was asked about marijuana.

I did a song with Snoop Dogg called ‘Ashtrays and Heartbreaks,’ so people can put it together for themselves. I think alcohol is way more dangerous than marijuana – people can be mad at me for saying that, but I don’t care. I’ve seen a lot of people spiral down with alcohol, but I’ve never seen that happen with weed.

It’s been pretty obvious she has been an avid weed smoker since her “bong incident“. Like she said, she made a song with Snoop Dogg called “Ashtrays and Heartbreaks“. If that isn’t obvious she stated “I smoke too much weed.“

I couldn’t be happier that _Rolling Stones_ asked her about marijuana, and with her response. It is, what everyone else is saying. But not everyone is Miley Cyrus. Her voice reaches such a wide variety of people. It might take Miley Cyrus to get some of these parents to think twice about marijuana. Unless they have already.

Liquor Control Board spokesman Brian Smith said the board was unlikely to take up the issue of private pot clubs or delivery services, as they fall outside its licensing purview. But he said there may be room for cities such as Seattle to allow such clubs to operate, assuming the establishments do not sell alcohol. The rules keeping marijuana businesses 1,000 feet from such sites as transit centers “are cut-and-dried” and unlikely to be changed, Smith said.

Because of the number and quality of recommendations it has received, the Liquor Control Board will push back the release of its next draft rules by about two weeks, until July 3, Smith said. It will file the official pot industry rules in August and plans to start accepting applications for licenses to grow, process and sell marijuana in September. Retail marijuana stores are expected to open in the state next year.

New Post From DankXDrank During my recent visit back to Jersey, I had the opportunity to attend a screening of a movie titled ‘_How To Make Money Selling Drugs,_‘ and I was told that the producer of the film was Adrian Grenier and that he would be attendance to answer questions about the film. I was instantly interested because I am huge fan of ‘_Entourage_‘ and it was a huge influence on why I currently reside in Los Angeles.

The screening was held at the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens, New York. A very fitting place to meet Vince Chase. The dialogue was set to happen with Grenier and members the React to Film organization. I quickly learned about how this organization is using film to help young people learn, dialogue and engage with real life issues. I was really inspired by their message and the mission they were trying to accomplish.  I would recommend checking out more about their movement if you are into film.

I did not know what to expect from a movie with such a bold title but what I saw surpassed all of my expectations. The movie is documentary that examines the drug trade from top of bottom. It talks about how you rise from a low level dealer to a Cartel Kingpin relatively easily if you study your history. Consider this your ‘drug trade for dummies’ guide to the lucrative but dangerous drug business.  Despite the image you might think from hearing the title, this was a well researched and well documented film with great info.

I was intrigued and pulled in by the flow of the movie.  As it took you through the workings of criminal drug organizations, you would also start to see the clear fallacies and mistakes of prohibition.  You would see how the drug was has affected so many minorities in America and Mexico.  You would see how lobbyists, crooked politicians and the business of prison rule the drug war.  This is really an activism movie with an entertaining twist that will keep you wanting more. Many of the people interviewed in the movie are people I have spoken with or interviewed myself.  Here is a breakdown from the producers of the film on all the guest interviewees:

Told from the perspective of former drug dealers, and featuring interviews with rights advocates Russell Simmons, Susan Sarandon, and David Simon (creator of “The Wire”), the film gives you the lessons you need to start your own drug empire while exposing the corruption behind the “war on drugs.”

Overall I really enjoyed the movie and I can definitely see it being something that can be used to share the downsides of the drug war with younger peers while also educating them on the drug trade.  This movie does not glamorize it anymore than society does in movies or music videos.  It tells you that you can make a ton of money and all the great things that come with it.  It does not sugar coat that but it will also let you know from real drug lords the downsides of it.  You will walk away with a lot more knowledge about the drug war as a whole.

I did eventually get to meet Adrian Grenier.

Snoops Master Kush Purple is an indica strain with a nice kush pine taste and heavy hitting body high. Recently I have thrown my normally sativa based diet to the wind and embraced the California love of indicas (most notably the OG hybrids which here range from Bugatti OG to Chris Browns Abusive OG but I’ll save the OG story for another TT)this was my budtenders favorite and it came highly recommended. An interesting and I’m sure common harp of the cannabis enthusiast is that bud is harvested to quickly here the heads on the tricomes aren’t quite all amber but it was an interesting strain to both taste and photograph.

New Post From DankXDrank D-Pryde is a young artist on the rise from Toronto with a strong message.  His single Lifted, off the upcoming EP _Canal & Richvale,_ is a fun, reggae infused song that you can blaze away to.  After a little further listening to his catalogue, I found that I enjoy his vocals and can appreciate the context of his lyrics.  I can clearly see that this kid is on a mission using social media to promote the message while doing what he loves.  He has a certain level of confidence in not being “_regular/normal_” yet still being genuine and I can rock with that.  Be on the look out for D-Pryde on tour coming to a city near you!

They started making full parks and half pipes for tech decks and mini bikes. If you didn’t have those, you had to improvise by using blocks, pencils and toys to create your park.
